I had wanderlust before I knew what wanderlust was. Even as a kid, I dreamed of travel - especially to tropical places. The bright colours, laid-back lifestyle, feet-in-the-sand kind of feeling had me taping magazine clippings of Hawaii and the Caribbean to my bedroom wall (to this day you can still find my apartment painted turquoise)! After I graduated high school, I knew it was time for me to travel, so I saved for a year and then left for the Big Island of Hawaii. It was there that I fell in love, not just for the sun and the sand, but the serendipity that travel brings, the culture we can be exposed to if we choose it, and the excitement of exploring the road less taken. It was there in the Hawaiian jungle where I was launched into a lifelong passion for sharing my love for travel!
Since I was that wide-eyed nineteen-year-old, I have returned twice to the Hawaiian Islands to live and volunteer. I also had the chance to work in New Zealand, a job that required me to travel around the country for six months, visiting the North and South Islands in their entirety. I've also sunbathed in Fiji and Australia, sipped coconut smoothies in Barbados, swam with pods of wild dolphins in Hawaii, photographed the locals in Jamaica and other parts of the Caribbean, embarked on numerous cruises, and traveled extensively around the U.S. I've worked in customer service and hospitality for over fifteen years, and have experience working for a large retail travel company.
